ARGOS ATLAS
A live map of cameras, flights, ships and conflict
Best for Anyone who watches cameras daily and wants the context around them
WorldCam
A camera globe that charges US$24 a month for unlimited viewing
WorldCam (worldcam.io) puts public cameras on a map, but without paying it only lets you open them for 45 seconds every 24 hours. On ARGOS ATLAS, the free plan gives you 3 full cameras a day, with aircraft, ships and armed conflict on the same map.
| Criterion | ARGOS ATLAS | WorldCam |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | 3 full cameras a day | 45 seconds a day |
| Unlimited, per month | US$8.99 | US$24 (Operator) |
| Live aircraft | On the free plan | From US$24 a month |
| Live ships | On the free plan | From US$24 a month |
| Armed conflict | 16 fronts | No conflict layer |
| Cameras recorded | 15 | 5 |
| Recording, per month | US$22.05 | US$99 |

The free plan: 3 full cameras against 45 seconds
On WorldCam you can browse the map, but opening cameras stops after 45 seconds every 24 hours: enough for a glance, not for following the traffic on your route or the snow at a ski resort. The ARGOS ATLAS free plan lets you watch 3 full cameras a day, each with its latest image and the time it was captured. If that's not enough, OUTPOST opens all of them for US$8.99 US$17.99 (€7.99 €15.99) a month, less than Operator's US$24.
Aircraft, ships and conflict on the free plan
On WorldCam, aircraft and ships start on Operator, and there's no armed-conflict layer. The ARGOS ATLAS free plan puts around 15,000 aircraft, civil and military, and 21,800 ships at a time next to the cameras, with 1,559 vessels and 342 aircraft on sanctions lists flagged, 16 war fronts and 1,715 events verified by photo or video. That way, a port camera comes with the ships sailing in, and a border camera with the events nearby. You can open the live map and look up the cameras you care about.
Recording: three times the cameras for less than half the price
WorldCam Command costs US$99 a month and records 5 cameras with 25 GB of shared storage. ARGOS DISTRICT costs US$22.05 US$62.99 (€19.95 €56.99) a month and records up to 15 with a 24-hour archive, and on top of that adds the ARGOS AI analyst, 7 days of flight and ship history and geofence alerts. DIVISION records more cameras and keeps 90 days.
