Terms and conditions
Version 2026-10-12. This is the version in force and the one accepted when an account is created.
What these Terms are
These Terms govern access to and use of ARGOS ATLAS (argosatlas.com): the map, the pages of this site, user accounts and the ARGOS PRO paid plans. By creating an account, subscribing to a plan or continuing to use the service, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. The legal notice and the privacy policy apply alongside these Terms and form part of the same agreement.
Who provides the service
The service is operated by a duly incorporated and registered company. Its full registration details (corporate name, registration number and registered office) are provided free of charge to any party able to show a legitimate interest, and to any judicial, law-enforcement or supervisory authority requesting them, upon request to [email protected]. That is also the contact address for anything relating to these Terms.
What the service is, and what it is not
ARGOS ATLAS aggregates and displays public sources on a map: cameras published by official bodies, flights, ships, infrastructure, events and market data. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", on the terms of the legal notice. It is not a security, emergency or navigation service, and it does not constitute professional advice of any kind (legal, financial, investment or otherwise). It must not be used as a sole source for any decision of that nature.
Your account
Anyone can create a free account. An account is identified solely by an email address, and you sign in with a single-use link sent to that address or with a Google account. There is no password, so access to your mailbox is the key to your account: you are responsible for activity carried out from it, and you should tell us at [email protected] if you believe someone has signed in without your permission.
When you create the account you accept these Terms by continuing with sign-up, as the line next to the sign-in buttons says. The marketing communications box is separate and optional: it does not condition sign-up or access to any feature, and it can be withdrawn at any time.
To create an account you must meet the minimum age required by the law applicable to you to consent to the processing of your data; to subscribe to a paid plan you must also have legal capacity to enter into a contract. An account belongs to one person or entity: it is not shared, assigned or resold, and creating multiple accounts to multiply a plan's limits is a breach of these Terms. You can close your account at any time from your account.
What is free and what is ARGOS PRO
The live map is free and is supported by advertising. ARGOS PRO is the paid layer, adding camera recording, the AI analyst (ARGOS AI), flight history and the videowall, to the extent corresponding to each plan, and the features added over time (such as alerts, geofences or API access) once they are available.
Besides the plans you can buy a pass for 24 hours: a one-off payment that opens every camera on the map, with no limits and no ads, for that time counted from the purchase. The 7-day pass stopped being sold on 28 September 2026; whoever bought one keeps it on the same terms until it ends. Passes bought up to 24 September 2026 also open the track history, for their own 24 hours. It is not a subscription, it does not renew and it does not include the features of the ARGOS PRO plans. If you buy another pass while one is running, its time is added at the end of the previous one.
The plans and the passes, their prices and their limits in force are published on the pricing page and on the plans page, and form part of these Terms. Prices may be shown with VAT included or without it; when they are shown exclusive of tax, the VAT or any applicable taxes are calculated and added at payment time based on the country you declare. Prices may differ depending on the country you buy from, and they are charged in euros, US dollars or pounds sterling. The price that applies is the one shown to you at checkout before you confirm.
Subscribing and payment
ARGOS PRO subscriptions and the passes are sold by Freemius, whichever page of the site you buy from, acting as merchant of record and as the party responsible for collecting payment. By subscribing you also accept their terms of sale, shown to you at checkout, and the invoice is issued and kept by Freemius in their customer portal, which you enter with the same email as your account.
Payment is taken through their gateway and your card details never pass through our servers. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (monthly or yearly, depending on the cycle you choose) at the price then in force for your plan, until you cancel. Access to what you subscribed to is enabled as soon as payment is confirmed.
The free trial
On the plans that offer it, the free trial lasts the number of days shown to you before you confirm and requires a payment method. Nothing is charged during those days. When it ends, the first period of the cycle you chose is charged unless you cancel first, and you get an email warning beforehand. One trial per person: a second subscription charges the first period from day one. Invitations emailed to waiting-list members may carry a trial of a different length, stated in the email itself.
Cancellation
You can cancel at any time, with no lock-in and no penalty, from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for: you keep access until that date and you are not charged again. Subscribing and refunds are governed by the seller's terms of sale, which you accept at checkout; the service is immediate digital access and you are given full access as soon as payment is confirmed.
Refunds
Refunds are governed by the terms of sale of Freemius, the seller, which you accept at checkout.
Changes of plan and of price
You can change plan at any time from your account; the change and its proration are applied by the seller, Freemius. If the price of your plan changes, you are notified by email a reasonable time before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before that date if you do not accept it. A price change never applies to a period already paid for.
Acceptable use
When using ARGOS ATLAS you agree not to:
- use the service to monitor, follow, identify or profile specific individuals, or to attempt to re-identify anyone from the images or data shown;
- apply facial, licence-plate or any other biometric recognition to the content of the service;
- extract the content systematically (scraping, unauthorised automation, bulk access) or reuse it beyond personal use, except through a subscribed API and within its quota;
- resell, sublicense, redistribute or make the service available to third parties, or share your account or your API key;
- circumvent or attempt to circumvent usage limits, quotas, advertising or technical protection measures, including by creating multiple accounts for that purpose;
- interfere with the operation of the service (denial of service, unauthorised intrusion testing, content injection) or access non-public parts of the infrastructure;
- use it for unlawful activities, to infringe third-party rights, or contrary to the law applicable to you, including data protection and export control and sanctions rules.
Breach allows us to suspend or close the account, with or without prior notice depending on severity, and without refund of what has been paid for the current period.
Usage limits
ARGOS PRO features have published limits: how many cameras can be recorded at once and of which type, how many hours each recording keeps, how much ARGOS AI credit each time window carries and what quota the API has. Those limits are part of what is subscribed to. When a window's credit runs out, the corresponding feature stops responding until the window resets; the rest of the service keeps working. The limits in force are published on the pricing page and visible in your account.
ARGOS AI
ARGOS AI drafts answers with a language model from your question and the map context you are looking at. It can be wrong, omit information or present as fact something that is not. Its answers are not professional advice and must not be used as the sole basis for any decision: verify what matters against the original source, which the map itself links to. Do not enter third-party personal data or confidential information into ARGOS AI.
Camera recording
Recording keeps the public images the camera already broadcasts in a rolling window whose length depends on your plan and on the type of camera; the oldest is deleted automatically as new footage comes in. No facial or licence-plate recognition is applied and no longer history is built.
You are responsible for what you do with the clips and timelapses you download or receive by e-mail, which are outside our control: publishing or passing them on may be subject to data protection law and to the terms of the body that owns the camera. The availability of a given camera depends on its source and may stop at any time without notice; a camera being down gives no right to compensation.
API and export
The API key is personal and non-transferable and its quota is the plan's: all use made with it is attributed to you. Data obtained through the API or through export remains subject to the licences of its originating sources, detailed in attributions, many of which require crediting the source.
Intellectual property
The selection, aggregation and presentation of the contents, and the ARGOS ATLAS brand, design, interface and software, are owned by the operator or its licensors, on the terms of the legal notice. While your account is active and paid up you are granted a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the service in accordance with these Terms. No other right is granted to you.
Availability and changes to the service
Uninterrupted availability and any particular service level are not guaranteed. The map layers depend on third-party sources that may change, degrade or disappear. We may add, change or withdraw features to improve the product, and carry out maintenance that temporarily interrupts the service. If we withdraw a substantial feature from a paid plan during a period already paid for, you are notified and may cancel.
Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator's liability to a paying user for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount actually paid by that user in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to it. No liability is accepted for indirect damages, loss of profit, loss of data or loss of opportunity. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, nor does it affect rights that consumer law grants on a mandatory basis to anyone contracting as a consumer.
Duration and termination
These Terms apply for as long as you use the service, and you can end them by closing your account. We may suspend or close an account for breach, on legal requirement, or if we stop providing the service; in the latter case, if you have a paid period running, the unused proportional part is refunded. When the account closes, your favourites, the cameras you follow and your recordings are deleted, and your email is anonymised (see the privacy policy).
Communications
Notices about your account and your subscription (the sign-in link, the end of the trial, renewal, a change to these Terms) are transactional: they are part of the service you asked for and are sent to your account email for as long as the account is open.
Marketing communications (product news) require your express consent, given by ticking the box at sign-up or the switch in your account, and withdrawn with one click from the footer of any of those emails or from that same screen. Withdrawing it affects neither your account nor your subscription.
Changes to these Terms
We may amend them to reflect legal, technical or product changes. The version in force is always the one published here, with its date at the top. If a change is substantial and affects you as a subscriber, you are notified by email a reasonable time before it takes effect and you can cancel before that date if you do not accept it. Continuing to use the service after that date means accepting the new version.
Governing law and complaints
These Terms are governed by the law applicable to the site operator, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country of residence of anyone contracting as a consumer. Information on the governing law and forum, together with the operator's full registration details, is provided to any party able to show a legitimate interest and to competent authorities, upon request to [email protected]. Any complaint can be sent first to that address: all of them are answered. Anyone contracting as a consumer also keeps the right to turn to the consumer authorities of their place of residence.
Other clauses
If any clause turns out to be void or unenforceable, the rest remains in force. You may not assign your position under this contract without prior authorisation; the operator may assign it in the event of a corporate reorganisation, without diminishing your rights. Not exercising a right at a given moment is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the legal notice and the privacy policy, constitute the entire agreement between the parties on the use of the service.
