Live cameras: 200,000+ against 22
World Monitor's 22 webcams are YouTube streams from cities, broadcasters and space agencies, grouped by region in a panel, and its own blog says it doesn't record or archive them. ARGOS ATLAS is built around cameras: more than 200,000 public ones, over 20,000 with video, each at its own spot on the map with its latest image and the time it was captured. DISTRICT records up to 15 with a 24-hour archive, and DIVISION records more cameras and adds a video wall.
Aircraft and ships one by one, not just the airports
World Monitor looks at aviation from the airports: delays and closures at 14 major US airports, NOTAMs at 46 in the Middle East and North Africa, and military flights. At sea, it measures traffic density and watches 13 chokepoints. ARGOS ATLAS follows them one by one: around 15,000 aircraft at a time, civil and military, and 21,800 ships, with 1,559 vessels and 342 aircraft on sanctions lists flagged. Tap any of them to open its card, listen to the control tower at many airports and, on DISTRICT, watch any flight in first person.
Conflict events, geolocated by photo or video
World Monitor marks conflict zones and UCDP events. ARGOS ATLAS puts every event at its own spot: 1,715 events from the last 90 days, geolocated by photo or video (1,276 with video), across 16 war fronts, plus thousands of conflict events and 70 GPS-jamming zones. Military flights, sanctioned ships and the area's cameras sit in the same tab. If war is what you mainly follow, see our live conflict maps.
History, alerts and mobile
World Monitor keeps snapshots of its dashboard for 7 days and, on a phone screen, opens with the panels up front and the map behind a 'Show Map' button. In ARGOS ATLAS the map comes first, in any browser. DISTRICT keeps 7 days of flights and ships and warns you with geofences when something enters or leaves an area; DIVISION extends history to 90 days and sends alerts to Discord and Slack.
Open the live map and look up a city you know; recording, history and alerts come with the ARGOS PRO plans. For more options, see the World Monitor alternatives.
